Frequently Asked Questions

How will my caregiver/worker be chosen and what if I request a different one?
After our care coordinator meets with you and/or your family members, she will try her best to match your personality with a worker that would be best suited for your needs. It is important to us to put your needs first and if you are not satisfied with your assigned caregiver we will work with you until a good match is found. We will make every effort to find a caregiver who has the experience and disposition to best fulfill your individual needs.

Will I have the same caregiver all the time?
We assign one individual to provide your cares and do our best to keep consistency in your services. No changes will be made as long as your caregiver is available to work. If your worker has an emergency or requests time off, we will offer/provide you with a temporary replacement to assist you until your regular caregiver is back.

What happens if I want to cancel and resume care at various times?
We will gladly accommodate your requests as our services are completely client driven. You can cancel care/visits at any time and resume it again as you wish. If you are ill or out of town for just a short time, your assigned caregiver can return when we are notified you are back home. Keep in mind that we may not be able to assign the same caregiver if you are gone for a longer length of time, as we need to assign other clients to them to keep their schedules full.

How much do services cost?
Our agency works on a sliding fee scale which is based on an individual’s monthly income. We have grants and funding available to supplement the costs so that everyone who needs the help in their home receives assistance whenever possible. If your income is at the top of our fee scale, individuals will be charged our full fee. For our current rates please call our care coordinator and we will be happy to discuss this further.

When will I be billed?
Once a month, our billing department reviews the notes your caregiver has submitted and bills you for your worker’s time. This is usually done around the 10th of each month. We except cash and/or checks, unfortunately we can not accept credit cards. If you are eligible for a Medicaid program through the State of Iowa, and we have been provided the proper paperwork, we are able to bill Medicaid for your services.
